Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced that Malta could become the site of a Ukrainian grain distribution facility for the North African market during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat. Poroshenko also highlighted that the Ukrainian Antonov aircraft company is willing to open an office in Malta.

Malta International Airport registered an increase of 9.9 per cent in passenger traffic over the same month last year, welcoming a record number of 441,943 passengers in May, the company said. This figure is higher than the passenger numbers registered in the August peak of 2011 (427,575 passengers), just under four years ago.
