Joseph M. Camilleri

Joseph M Camilleri was appointed Chief Officer for Valletta Fund Services, a fully owned subsidiary of BOV, as from January 2015. Joseph joined Bank of Valletta in March 1987.

Throughout his career at the Bank, he has held a number of senior key executive positions including Head of IT Systems, Executive Head Wealth Management, Chief Officer Human Resources and most recently Chief Officer for Strategy & Process Management. Joseph also held the positions of secretary to the Bank’s Executive Committee, vice chairperson of the Bank’s Trust Committee, and was also a member of the Bank’s Executive Committee.

Joseph M Camilleri holds a B.Sc. in Management and IT and also an MBA both from the University of Malta. He is married with two daughters.

Martin Farrugia
Martin began his career at the Central Bank of Malta spending nine years in various divisions of the Bank. During the period 1988-1991, he formed part of the team advising the Government on the feasibility of setting up a Stock Exchange in Malta. Martin was very much involved in the drafting of the Law, Statute and Bye-Laws governing the establishment and operations of the Exchange. He eventually moved to the Malta Stock Exchange on its establishment in 1991 and was responsible for the Trading Operations, Information Technology and Finance. Martin joined Valletta Fund Management Limited in 2000 and subsequently Valletta Fund Services Limited upon its incorporation in 2006. His role as Assistant General Manager and Head of Operations encompassed overseeing all the operations of the company, with duties covering the fund operations, administration and information technology. In 2010, he was appointed Chief Operations Officer. Martin holds an Honours Degree in Business Management from the University of Malta and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Henley Management College in the U.K.
Joseph Camilleri
Joseph joined Bank of Valletta Group in 1985. In the initial years, he has occupied various roles within the Group related to corporate lending, both at Branch level and eventually through the Bank’s investment banking arm, which at that time was Valletta Investment Bank. From 2000 through to 2007, Joseph represented Bank of Valletta p.l.c. in Italy, heading up the representative office in Milan. During these years, he has maintained relationships with Italian financial institutions, correspondent banks and clients. Joseph was also active in promoting the strengthening of commercial trade and investments between the two countries, as well as promoting Malta as a financial services domicile. In 2007, Joseph joined Valletta Fund Services Limited and is heading the Business Development Division. Joseph holds a diploma issued by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of which he is an Associate.
