- Diane Bugeja
Diane is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Finance Practice Group at Camilleri Preziosi. She practices primarily in financial services law, financial regulation and anti-money laundering regulation, providing advice to local and overseas clients on the impact of the current and forthcoming regulatory regime on their business models. Diane also advises clients on the regulatory aspects of a wide range of transactions, including licensing-related matters, capital markets initiatives and on-going liaison with regulatory authorities more broadly. Prior to joining the firm, Diane was a risk and regulatory consultant at a Big Four audit firm, working in Malta and in London, and subsequently joined the enforcement departments of the UK and Maltese financial services regulators. Diane is currently reading for a PhD in Law at King’s College London.
- Dr Kirsten Cassar
Dr. Kirsten Cassar is an Associate forming part of the Corporate and Finance practice group at Camilleri Preziosi. Kirsten graduated as Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta after submitting a thesis on the “Developments to Article 7 of the OECD Model Tax Treaty and Commentary in light of the OECD 2010 Report on the Attribution of Profits to Permanent Establishments.” Shortly after, Kirsten embarked on an LL.M. in Corporate and Securities Law at the University of London. Kirsten practices in the areas of direct and indirect tax matters, primarily in the domestic and international tax advisory and tax restructuring. Kirsten also focuses on areas of tax compliance including on FATCA and CRS related matters, and has advised a number of financial institutions on the implications of such legislation on their business and compliance measures. Kirsten also regularly assists in advising clients on the corporate law aspects of a wide range of transactions and other areas including corporate finance, M&A and capital markets. This provides clients with comprehensive insight on a wide range of matters which might have an impact on any particular transaction whether strictly related to the fiscal implications of a transaction or otherwise.
- Dr Louis Degabriele
Louis de Gabriele currently heads the Corporate and Finance practice group at Camilleri Preziosi, which includes the corporate, banking, tax, and insurance units of the firm. His area of expertise is principally banking, corporate finance, and M&A where he has been actively involved since the beginning of his career. He has led the Camilleri Preziosi team on a number of major projects and transactions, both for local and international corporations, as well as capital markets assignments. As part of his work in his areas of expertise Louis is involved in advising clients on aspects of anti-money laundering procedures and compliance, including banks financial institutions and investment services companies. He also advises the Chamber of Advocates on anti money-laundering compliance for the legal profession. Louis de Gabriele holds a LL.D from University of Malta and a LL.M in Corporate & Commercial Law from the University of London.
