iGaming Idol 2019: All the Winners

Following the huge success of previous years, more than 500 guests from across the iGaming industry were attending the fourth annual iGaming Idol event at the InterContinental Arena Conference Centre in St Julian’s on Wednesday, where all the winners were revealed.

Known as the iGaming ‘Oscars’, iGaming Idol brings together the best of the best of the industry for an evening of recognition and celebration of excellence in one of Malta’s fastest-growing sectors that accounts for 12% of the island's GDP and employs more than 12,000 people.

The fourth edition of the iGaming Idol event focused on both individual achievement as well as companies. Entries were received from individuals, teams and companies across the sector, representing the very best the industry has to offer. The winners were selected by an independent panel of judges, ensuring equality and transparency, and announced by's Michael Casselli and Stephanie Tower.

23 “Idols of the Year” in total were handed out to outstanding professionals, leaders and companies  from across the iGaming industry. 

This year, the CEO of the Year award was won by Martin Carlesund from Evolution Gaming. The Outstanding Contribution to the Industry award was handed to Eman Pulis from SiGMA. 

The Employer Branding of the Year award went to Kindred Group, and the Employer of the Year was awarded to Hero Gaming. 

The Account Manager was awarded to Thomas Bijman of Catena Media. George Farantzikos from NetEnt won the Casino Dealer Idol of the Year award. NetEnt's Bryan Upton won the Casino Idol of the Year award. Vera Panczyk from SuperNation was crowned as the Affiliate Manager Idol of the Year award. The Customer Service Idol of the Year award was won by Timo Thronicke from Videoslots. Design Idol of the Year went to Joseph Xerri from Genesis Global Limited.

Sara Condo of Jackpotjoy Group won the Compliance and Regulated Markets Idol of the Year award, and Jill Bergforth from Mr Green was awarded the Copywriter Idol of the Year award. The Developer Idol of the Year, a new category for 2019, was won by Jevon Demanuele of GiG.

Yan Grech from Jackpotjoy Group was awarded the Fraud and Risk Idol of 2019. Ashley-Christian Hardy of GiG won the Manager Idol of the year, and Keith Caruana of Kindred Group was awarded the Office Management Idol of the Year. The Recruitment Idol of the Year was awarded to Martina Pugliesi of Catena Media. Lars Kollind of Playson Games got the Sales Idol of the Year.  The SEO Idol of the Year was awarded to Koen Bongers of Blexr. The VIP Idol of the year was handed to Kenneth Christiansen from LeoVegas Careers.

The first Hall of Fame award was won by Olga Finkel from WH Partners, the second award went to Pontus Lindwall of Betsson Group, and Robin Reed, founder and former CEO of GiG won the third Hall of Fame award.
