What does a typical day in your life look like?
In the morning I spend time with my family before heading to the Office. During the day I have meetings with my team and with stakeholders. I also allocate some time to strategic thinking and planning, before heading back home and spending time with my family.
What business issues are high on your agenda?
Strengthening the role of the accountancy profession is what inspires all of the work undertaken at the MIA. The profession creates value to the economy and society in general. Creating an understanding of who we are and steering the profession on sound basis both in terms of competence and values is crucial so that the profession retains its relevance, through the provision of additional value to the professional’s main stakeholder, namely their clients. To achieve this, we work to enhance the services provided to MIA’s members by strengthening the organisation’s drive to build bridges with existing and new stakeholders.
What motivates you to get to the office in the morning?
The Malta Institute of Accountants is an important institution which is looked up at by all professionals and society at large. Aware of this responsibility and our crucial role, the support of a committed team and the strategic mission of our Institute are the main motivation.
