CEO of the Week

CEO of the Week: Eman Pulis, CEO of SiGMA and of the Malta Blockchain Summit

Eman has started up the Summit of iGaming Malta (SiGMA) in 2014, and the show has quickly grown into one of Europe's biggest and most exciting iGaming events. While SiGMA has firmly established itself as an annual must-attend event, Eman has taken on the challenge of organising the Malta Blockchain Summit. Its first edition in November 2018 seeks to attract no fewer than 4,000 people on the back of Malta's move to develop the world's first holistic regulatory framework for Distributed Ledger Technologies.

What does a typical day in your life look like?

I wake up at 5am and tend to get an early start at the office, and the day goes by before I know it. Time flies when you’re having fun, I guess.

What business issues keep you up at night?

My business is built on the success of Gaming and Blockchain. What makes these two verticals interesting is their permeability of change, that is the fast rate with which they are evolving - be it regulatory or technological.

What motivates you to get to the office in the morning?

It’s not a dull office to work in, and we’re in a very exciting phase of growth right now. The company employs over 20 people, so it was a bitter sweet moment to move away from the start-up mentality. I’ve been a start-up all my life until late last year.

My Malta

My favourite location: Mellieha. The short drive helps me separate work from private life.

My favourite local food: I’m a fan of everything local.

My favourite dining experience: Our own iGatherings, of course. I put a lot of TLC into these dinners, and they have a lot of character.

My favourite nightspot: Anywhere, as long as the company is right.
